Up In The Air SomewhereSusan Dwyer is the artistic force behind the ceramics and paper line, Up in the Air Somewhere. Susan studied sculpture at the Art Institute of Chicago and after a few years in NYC she returned to the windy city to focus on ceramics and set up the business. Many of the ceramic pieces have a direct architectural influence, whether the silo votives or the Water tower planter/sculpture, yet the work is not heavy/industrial or imposing, but remains minimal, with clean lines. She clearly has a light touch with ceramics, making solid objects feel light and elegant. This transfers directly to the paperwork was well. Color bursts of yellow, peach, or aqua fan out in the paper bowls and the gold leafed bowls are stunning and very sculptural.
