Patty Benson lives and works in Northern California. She started Papaver Vert in 2007, working out of an apartment she shared with her husband. When she started to crochet in the mid 2000's she felt an instant connection. She knew she wanted to find a way to incorporate her interest in home décor with her love of wool in some bigger way, and she found it through felting.

Her designs are founded in the techniques of crocheting and wet felting wool, combining a labor intensive and ancient craft with her own contemporary aesthetic using smart designs and bright, vivid colors. Patty loves that wool is a renewable resource and she stands behind a non-mass produced sensibility of the material. Each piece is handmade in the studio, creating a well-made, durable piece that will last.
