Andrew ZarouAndrew Zarou is a visual artist living and working in Brooklyn, NY. He frequently works in collage, using a variety of paper based materials including notecards, ticket stubs, lottery tickets, thermostat reading paper, old library cards and so forth. The collages feel at once random and abstract yet there is an underlying control of form and space and an overall sense of organization to any randomness. He recently began this series of artist books using images taken from his cellphone while moving around the city.
Andrew studied studio art at Hampshire College and has participated several residencies including Yaddo, Vermont Studio Center and The Atlantic Center for the Arts from which he received a grant from the Joan Mitchell Foundation.
